Huberman Duo & Huberman Piano Trio

Biography Huberman Duo & Huberman Piano Trio

The Huberman Duo
is a partnership between Barbara Karaśkiewicz and Magdalena Ziarkowska-Kołacka, two artists who, in the performance and recording of their chamber music, pay special tribute to Bronisław Huberman. Their collaboration began in the city of Częstochowa, the very birthplace of Bronisław Huberman – the brilliant Polish violinist of Jewish origin who during the first half of the 20th century was considered an absolute master of the violin. Huberman’s legacy as not only a virtuoso talent but also a great humanist, social worker and philanthropist is fostered today by the worldwide Foundation bearing his name, as well as by the Częstochowa Philharmonic, who chose him as its patron.

The duo is actively engaged in popularizing Huberman’s character and achievements through performances at the bi-annual Violin Festival in his home town, and presentations of the works he had developed and performed, amongst which are the transcriptions of miniatures by Fryderyk Chopin.
