Info for Heaven
Message from Kirin Uchida: Thank you for listening to my first album “Heaven”.
Since I was a child, I had a passion for creating- learned piano in primary school, and in high school I was active in a rock band. I learned DTM back then, combining experimental sounds from different genres and making music. I was 18 years old when I had a fateful encounter with this instrument, Cello - and my vision since then has always been to combine Cello with programming, to create an original sound of my own.
This album, is absolutely the beginning of that dream come true, and it will continue to be my life's work.
About Track 1 "Yobigoe Tooku (Calling from afar)": This was a very experimental session, in that I recorded free improvisational solo on Cello and Erfu separately and later combined the two, Making that as a basic, I added piano and Sitar, aiming to get that oriental and abstract feel, with each instruments answering one another.
Even though I recorded Cello and Erfu separately, not listening to anything else during the recording, somehow it all fitted. I suppose because I had an image in my head as I was free-soloing, it miraculously came together. Please listen out for motifs and harmonies that birthed spontaneously throughout this session.
