Described by Isaac Stern as “..one of the most outstanding Israeli violinists” , Sergey Ostrovsky, who was born in 1975 in Russia, in a family of musicians, today, managing an active and successful career as Aviv Quartet first violinist, as a Soloist with Orchestras worldwide, as a Conductor or Youth and Professional Orchestras and a Violin Professor of Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve (Neuchatel Branch) as well as a Concertmaster of leading European Orchestras.

As a First violinist and a founder in 1996 of the Aviv String Quartet, Sergey won several top prizes at the International Competitions, such as Grand Prix at 3rd Melbourne Chamber Music Competition, Bordeaux String Quartet Competition, Prague Spring Competition, “Schubert and Modernity” Competition in Graz, Austria , and has appeared in every continent around the world, at the renowned venues as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, Kennedy Center and Library of Congress in Washington, Sydney Opera House, Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London, Auditorium de Louvre and Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, Wiener Konzerthous, Berliner Konzerthaus, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Cologne Philharmonie, in concert tours in South Africa, Australia, Canada, China, United States, Brazil, Poland, Croatia, Hungary, Austria and many other countries, Participation in Festivals such as Verbier, Ex-en Provence, Storioni, Festival of Davos, Festival of Quartets in Luberon, Folles Journees de Nantes, during 25 years of a successful career , made the group known as one of the top class string quartets on a stage of chamber music around the globe.

Between 2007 and 2012 Sergey served as a First Concertmaster of Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva, Switzerland and between 2011-2015 – Concertmaster of Orchestre de la Communidad Valenciana. His guest leading appearances include London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Basel Symphony, Luzern Symphony , Geneva Chamber Orchestra.

Passionately involved in Conducting, Sergey Ostrovsky has performed with PKF Filharmonia Praha, Armenia Chamber Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Estonian Sinfonietta, Soloists of Nizhny Novgorod ( Russia ), and youth orchestras of Festival AIMS, in Catalunya, Avetis Festival Orchestra in Geneva, Orchestra of HEM de Geneve, and is a Founder of Soloists of Neuchatel. Coming season includes conducting the orchestras in Switzerland, Ukraine and Armenia .

In 2009, Sergey was appointed as a Violin Professor at Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve (known earlier as Geneva Conservatory) at the Neuchatel Branch. His students , International prize winners, are performing around the world as solo violinists and chamber musicians and in the leading European Orchestras.

Sergey has recorded for EMI Classics Mozart Concertone for 2 violins, together with Maxim Vengerov and Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, and in 2010 sergey recorded for Naxos, a new album, featuring less known russian concertos, by Anton Arensky, Jules Conus, and a World premiere recording of a Concertino op .42 by Mieczyslaw Weinberg as well as , several recordings on label Naxos (F. Schubert , F.A.Hoffmeister, Erwin Schulhoff, Erno Dohnanyi) , Aparté- Schubert Late Quartets, and Dalia Classics (Shostakovich)

Sergey began playing violin at the age of 6, inspired by the great talent and extraordinary musicianship of his Father, Valery Ostrovsky, concert pianist and professor, who’s pedagogical touch and knowledge, assisted him through the years of his studies, not only by coaching , but as well , by accompanying on piano during the period of 1990-2002. Sergey began his violin studies with David Lapidus in a Music School, and worked with him for 8 years.During these studies Sergey made his first public concert appearance at the age of 8, and performed for a first time with a Chamber Orchestra at the age of 10 and a Symphony orchestra at the age of 13.

In the Music College of Gorky Conservatory continued his studies with Lazar Gantman and Yury Gluchovsky, as a violin professors and Israil Gusmann , as his Conducting professor. In 1991 immigrated to Israel with his family and continued his studies with Irina Svetlova and Yair Kless at the Rubin Academy Tel Aviv(from 2005-Buchmann-Mehta High School of Music) During 1998-2002 with the Aviv Quartet studied in Cologne Hochschule with the members Alban Berg Quartet, and with members of Daniel Quartet in Rotterdam Conservatory ,where he completed his Bachelor Degree Diploma with Natalia Morozova in 2000, and his Master Degree Diploma in Amsterdam Conservatory with Alexander Kerr in 2002. His conducting classes Sergey continued with a Professor Georg Christoph Sandmann , in Dresden.

Sergey Ostrovsky is playing on a 1716 violin, made by Giovanni Grancinno, which was purchased with the generous support of Mr. James Mayer and “Tzfonot Tarbut” non profit organisation for supporting arts in Israel.

Natalia Morozova
Russian pianist Natalia Morozova was born in Moscow, where she began her piano studies at the age of six. She graduated with highest honors from the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, where her teachers had included Tigran Alikhanov, Victor Mergianov, Alexander Mdoyantz, and undertook further chamber music studies in Italy.

For her achievements as a soloist and with her piano duo partner Vitaly Younitsky she won a series of prizes at international competitions in Russia, Italy and Switzerland. As a soloist with orchestra Natalia performed across Europe and produced recordings with the Basel Sinfonietta, the Ekaterinburg Philharmonic, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, and the Moscow Soloists conducted by Yuri Bashmet. Moreover, she could be heard in solo and chamber music recitals across Russia, in Italy (at the Quirinal Palace in Rome for Rai 3 television), Austria (Mozarteum Salzburg), France, Great Britain, Lebanon (Al Bustan Festival), Slovenia, Croatia, Lettonia, Bulgaria and Switzerland, where she featured in Classeek’s Winter Festival Live Stream Concerts and many others.

Chamber music partners include Renaud Capuçon, Maxim Vengerov, Nikita Boriso-Glebsky, Michael Guttman, Yuri Bashmet, Anton Martynov, Julian Rachlin, Gautier Capuçon, François Salque, Nadezda Tokareva, Carlo Colombara, Anna Serova, Emmanuele Baldini, Laurence Guillod and Alexandra Conunova.

Constantly seeking new forms of expression and knowledge, Natalia Morozova’s repertoire has recently increased in the fields of baroque and contemporary music.
