Saxophonist Carlo Cattano's simple but ingenious idea is to have formed a stable jazz orchestra made up of musicians of all generations, all from eastern Sicily.
The orchestra is made up of very young musicians such as the twins Giovanni and Matteo Cutello, only 14 years old, youngsters such as Giuseppe Consiglio, Fabio Tiralongo, Andrea Iurianello, Alessandro Borgia, Luca Pattavina, Marco Caruso. and veterans such as Antonio Moncada, Ivan Cammarata, Seby Bell'Arte, Filippo Dipietro, Maurizio Agosta and Carlo Cattano himself. The orchestra presents itself as a veritable laboratory where musical research and ideas can be developed, highlighting its influences without any fear.
Such a unique ensemble also came about because Cattano, besides being a great musician and arranger, is undoubtedly also one of the best jazz teachers Sicily has ever had. Among his pupils is the famous Francesco Cafiso.
