Since the early 1980s Chris Eaton has been building a profile as one of Britain’s classic songwriters. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Sir Cliff Richard, Amy Grant, Jessica Simpson, Vince Gill, Janet Jackson, Sheena Easton, Patti Austin, Donna Summer, Grover Washington jnr., Boney James, Keith Urban, Paul Carrack and many others.
More than a dozen of Chris’ songs have hit the #1 spot in the Pop and CCM charts in the UK and USA. Some have gone on to become international Christmas and Contemporary Christian standards - “Breath Of Heaven”(with Amy Grant), “Saviour’s Day”, “Little Town”, “A Christmas To Remember” (with Amy Grant). In his illustrious career Chris has picked up many BMI and Dove awards and nominations.
The success has continued …
Chris co-wrote the title track on 2014 Top 5 album ‘Dream You Back’ for the Japanese boy band W-INDS.
“1914, The Carol of Christmas”, a track co-written and produced by Chris in 2014, raised thousands of pounds for the 3 major British armed forces charities.
Sir Cliff Richard’s 2015 single, was Chris’ song, “Golden”. More recently 3 Eaton songs found their way onto Sir Cliff’s 2018 album Rise Up including the single “Reborn”. Sir Cliff sang Chris’ song, “Faith”, at Cilla Black’s nationally televised funeral. Chris co-wrote Sir Cliff’s 2020 single “Falling For You”.
“Breath Of Heaven (Mary’s Song)” co-written with Amy Grant recently featured in two major US movies ‘The Star’ (Kelly Clarkson, Opfrah Winfrey) and ‘I Can Only Imagine’ (Dennis Quaid, Trace Adkins).
Chris performed, co-wrote and co-produced The Repose Suite, the soundtrack for leading luxury skincare brand, Temple Spa. This was followed in 2021 with Temple Spa’s ‘Moments Of Peace’, musical meditations created by Chris and Abby Eaton promoting Temple Spa products and in support of the charity MIND.
