Concierto Iberico

Biography Concierto Iberico

Concierto Iberico
is an early music ensemble that focuses on Renaissance and Baroque music and plays on historical wind instruments and "all kinds of instruments". Since its foundation, the young ensemble has been committed to reviving the musical links between Spain and the rest of Europe that have existed since Spain's "Siglo de Oro" (the Golden Age). The name of the ensemble was derived from a play on words between "concierto" (in Spanish, concert or agreement) of the ensemble's founders to explore and promote Spanish music, and the word "ibérico", which refers to the founders' Iberian origins.

Examples of musical experiences at historical locations are: Festive concert at Roggenburg Monastery to mark the 900th anniversary of the Premonstratensian Order (2021). Concert at the Carmelite monastery in Caravaca de la Cruz, which was founded by Teresa of Ávila in 1576 (2019, Spain). Concert as part of the 200th anniversary of the Bremen Town Musicians. Festive concert at Golzwarden's St Bartholomew's Church, the church where Arp Schnitger was baptised (2018), to mark the 300th anniversary of his death, and performances in the framework of the historic market (2017-18) at Bremen's Liebfrauenkirchhof.
