Biography Jaleh Perego & Sara Pavlovic



Jaleh Nili Perego
was born in Rennes, France, in 1983 and grew up in Vienna. She received her first violin lessons at the age of three and gained extensive stage experience during her childhood. In 2001, Jaleh Perego was accepted into the class of Vienna Symphony Orchestra member Prof. Florian Zwiauer at the Vienna Conservatory. After two years, she transferred to the master class of Prof. Michael Frischenschlager at the University of Music in Vienna. At the same time, she attended the composition class of Prof. Ivàn Eröd and passed her diploma examination with distinction in 2004. From 2006 to 2014, she studied at the Karlsruhe University of Music with Prof. Nachum Erlich. In 2014, she passed the soloist examination summa cum laude. Her active concert career has taken her throughout Europe, Switzerland, Russia, Israel, Brazil, England, America, and New Zealand. The core of her repertoire consists of the classics of violin literature as well as her own arrangements. Since 2017, Jaleh Perego has also been working on her musicological dissertation project on the composer and architect Richard Fuchs. She received funding from the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Scholarship Foundation from 2017 to 2020.

The young pianist demonstrates her versatility in various genres, from solo performance and chamber music to Lieder and new music. She always strives to enliven her interpretations with vibrant timbres and a transparent essence.

Even during her academic career, the young pianist has performed at international music festivals, including the Ruhr Extra Schicht Piano Festival (Germany), the International Lied Festival Zeist (Netherlands), the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival (Japan), the International Euregio Rhine-Waal Music Festival (Netherlands), the International Oxford Song Festival (Great Britain), the PianoFest Sint-Niklaas (Belgium), the Allegro Vivo Festival (Austria), and the Hidalgo Festival Street Art Song.

As a prizewinner of numerous international competitions, she has established herself as an expressive and sensitive musician. Most recently, Sara won the 2022 Young Artists Platform Prize at the International Lied Festival Zeist with soprano Yue Wang. She also won first prize at the Berlin Rising Stars Grand Prix International Music Competition in 2021 with tenor Zhuohan Sun. Sara was honored as a laureate at the 54th IVC LiedDuo Competition in 's-Hertogenbosch.

Through various masterclasses, Sara has come into contact with prominent musical personalities, including Thomas Hampson, Christoph Pregardien, Dorothea Röschmann, Eberhard Feltz, Klaus Hellwig, Georg Friedrich Schenck, Henk Neven, Hans Eijsackers, and Christianne Stotijn.

Her artistic work has been generously supported by the DAAD, the ZONTA International Foundation, the Deutschlandstipendium, and the Ivan Petković Foundation. Sara is also a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association Düsseldorf and the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation LiveMusicNow.

Additionally, Sara is actively involved in accompanying masterclasses, thus contributing her musical expertise to the development of aspiring musicians.

Serbian-born pianist Sara Pavlovic graduated with honors from the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf piano school. Her passion for art song prompted her to continue her academic journey with Hartmut Höll at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Sara is currently studying song interpretation in the soloist examination program there.
