Info for Angel Litany (Parallel Lines Edition)
This EP bookmarks a period of growth in my life as I cultivated deeper friendships and relationships with the people I love, and also learned a lot about my own nature and tendencies, my strengths and weaknesses. A quality I admire about myself is my determination to show up when it matters most. To be there for the people I care about, whenever they need me. The flip side of this is the pain that comes with distance and barriers. Both physical, and emotional. When you can’t be there for someone, or when they’re not there for you.
As human beings, we put up walls to protect ourselves. We downplay things to soften the blow of potential disappointment, we hide our emotions for fear of being judged, we let those closest to us exist as total strangers because sometimes it’s more comfortable to be alone. This project explores all of these feelings, as they were what I was experiencing and reflecting on at the time.
There’s a surprising cohesion through these songs that came about differently to how I’ve worked in the past. Typically I’ve approached my projects in a linear way, with a set intention guiding what I make. This time, it happened more serendipitously. Each song was born through collaboration, without a broader vision for the world it was a part of. And interestingly, a lot of first time collaborations - which often seems to lead to a special magic. There is something about two people meeting for the first time to create something together that channels an energy beyond the sum of its parts. You’re getting to know each other, and each person wants to give their best, but also remain open to whatever feels natural.

Chris Lanzon
Chris's music captures the warmth and melancholy of a sun-faded, well-loved journal, blending indie-pop and folk with melodies that linger like the last light of day.
It is a youthfulness, tempered with the deep wisdom of a mind that’s seen the best and the worst of the world, yet still believes in the magic of a simple moment.
Chris has emerged as a beacon for those who find solace in the understated and the sincere, each song a conversation—a campfire confession that is profoundly personal and universally resonant. With three EPs released between 2020-2023, Chris has seen acclaim from fans and industry alike, with an increasing following on social media and recognition from outlets such as NME, BBC Radio 1, and Triple J.
His 2024 EP, "Angel Litany," (released Sept 12th) explores the coexistence of love and pain.
Collaborating with artists like Harmony (formerly of Girlpool), Deb Never, and Blake Rose–each track reflects a moment of serendipitous connection born from first-time collaborations. The project embodies Chris's determination to show up for the people he loves, even through the pain of distance and emotional barriers that often accompany deep human connections.
To listen to Chris Lanzon is to find comfort in the delicate, the understated, and the imperfect—to feel seen and understood.
