Info for Château Les Clos

German producer and drummer Daniel Scholz presents his new album "Château Les Clos". The 12 compositions are sometimes detailed and upbeat with excited solos, sometimes soothing and almost dreamy. The result is a multi-faceted album that gives the feeling of long summer evenings in France! Daniel Scholz started classical drum lessons at the age of 5. Due to his interest in pop and rock music, he participated in various workshops of renowned drummers such as Benny Greb or Claus Hessler at a young age. In 2008, Scholz first trained at the Berufsfachschule für Musik in Bad Königshofen before studying jazz at the Hochschule für Musik in Nuremberg as well as Weimar. Since then, the musician has played throughout Europe in changing groups such as WolveSpirit or Michael Wagener and has been touring numerous concerts and festivals since 2016 with his own band consisting of André Schwager, Konstantin Herleinsberger, Benny Brown and Philipp Steen. In addition to his strong live career, Daniel Scholz can look back on numerous international productions, four of his own albums and a textbook for drums. In addition, the drummer looks after well-known artists on his jazz label DS Records and promotes young international talents. As a producer and sound engineer, Daniel Scholz provides the best sound for Alex Christensen or ARD ("Wer Weiss Denn Sowas?", BR Hörfunk, WM 2020), among others. His diverse musical experiences audibly influence his latest album "Château Les Clos" and give the well known jazz sound a fresh, original touch. Together with special guest and jazz legend Tony Lakatos, he rented an old hunting lodge in the south of France and created 12 unique compositions in this harmonious location, which paint a multifaceted soundscape with their attention to detail and carry you off on a summer vacation to the south of France.

Daniel Scholz
Daniel Scholz has been holding sticks since he was a child and, despite his young age, has already played on many stages. Today he can look back on numerous published albums, international productions, four of his own albums and a teaching book for drums. His jazz label DS Records not only has well-known artists in its repertoire, but above all promotes young international talent. As an author, Daniel Scholz regularly publishes in specialist magazines.

Scholz's concerts are an experience for both the audience and the band. His music is open to improvisation and offers the musicians space to redesign the pieces every evening.

His enthusiasm for music and sounds does not end with the instrument. For several years, Daniel Scholz has been behind the mixing desk as a producer and takes care of the right sound for Michael Schulte or Pudeldame or produces for his label. He is a sought-after sound engineer at ARD (Wer Weiss Denn Sowas?, BR radio, WM 2020).

In 2022, Daniel Scholz produced another milestone in his career. With special guest and jazz legend Tony Lakatos, he rented an old hunting lodge in the south of France, where the album "Chateau Les Clos" was created over the course of a week, which will be released in October 2023.
