"After 12 years with DragonForce, vocalist MARC HUDSON presents his first solo album Starbound Stories, due out on 25 August 2023 via Napalm Records. Starbound Stories is a gripping anime-inspired power metal adventure with influences from Japanese music and video game soundtracks, which the singer realises together with a variety of notable guests.

The instrumental "As The Twilight Met The Sea" opens the album's phnantasy soundscapes and is accompanied by samurai metal master Ryoji Shinomoto (RYUJIN, formerly known as Gyze) on traditional Japanese instruments. Shinomoto also contributes his voice on the track "Freedom Heart", which also features a solo by guitar virtuoso Syu (Galneryus). On the explosive power metal anthem "Dracula X", Jacky Vincent (ex-Falling in Reverse, ex-Cry Venom) contributes a guitar solo and guest vocals come from Adrienne Cowan (Seven Spires). The emotional track "Stars" features an electric violin by classically trained violinist Mia Asano. The energetic "The Siren" is led by a varied melody and ballad-like vocals, while "Astralive" combines a catchy chorus with fast drumming, captivating guitar work, keyboard elements and a polished power metal vocal that reaches for the stars. "Swansong" begins keyboard intro that could have come from a movie soundtrack. Together with sentimental vocals, the song becomes a full-fledged power metal ballad with many effects that further enhance the magical atmosphere. Steve Terreberry, known on YouTube as Stevie T. (3.32 million subscribers), plays a guitar solo on "Call Of The Martyrs" and is accompanied by prog guitarist Galen Stapley (Azure). Stapley also delivers a solo on the following title track, "Starbound Stories". "One More Sight Of The Sun With You" is sung in Japanese and stays true to the album's main themes.

Alongside the announcement of the debut solo album, Hudson has released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Astralive. Speaking about the new song, he says, “Astralive is the first single from the album and takes the listener on a power metal journey through space and time.
