Info for Dahill Road
Esteemed Finnish jazz guitarist and composer, Kari Antila, is set to release his new album "Dahill Road", weaving a rich tapestry of melodic journeys and rhythmic explorations. With a career that spans over fifteen years, traversing the realms of jazz from Finland to Belgium and New York, Antila has become one of Finland’s most internationally acclaimed jazz guitarists. His previous works have graced numerous significant domestic and international festivals, including the renowned Pori Jazz and the Belgian JazzLab Series.
Joining Antila on this venture is Kaisa Mäensivu, a Finnish double bass player and composer, who has carved her own path in the jazz world. Currently based in New York and a graduate from the Manhattan School of Music, Mäensivu has been recognized with multiple awards and leads her own jazz quartet, Kaisa's Machine. Her finesse with the double bass and compositional prowess will undoubtedly add a unique layer to "Dahill Road".
Also featuring on the album is Alexi Tuomarila, a pianist whose journey through classical piano to the depths of jazz piano has seen him win international jazz competitions and release critically acclaimed albums. His nuanced and emotive playing style will bring a vibrant and soulful energy to the project.
With the rhythmic mastery of Tuomas Timonen, a drummer who has played with several A-list jazz artists and is known for his versatile performances across various music genres, the album is set to be a rhythmic delight for listeners.
