Info for Megalomanium II

ECLIPSE's signature sound of massive hooks and stellar musicianship have made them one of Sweden's largest heavy rock bands with well over 100 million streams on streaming services. Hot on the heels of their previous record Megalomanium Part I, ECLIPSE is back with the release of Megalomanium Part II.

Says lead singer Erik Martensson, “I think we have suffered from a heavy dose of ever growing egos over the last couple of years. The fact that we released a triple live record a few years ago is probably a good testament to that. Anyway, when it was time to start recording a new album we just felt like we could do whatever we wanted. The creative freedom that came from that feeling resulted in a bunch of great new songs. Like, A LOT of new songs! And a title, Megalomanium. But a title like that comes with a certain responsibility. It can't be just another record. So what's better than releasing a new record? Duh. Releasing TWO new records of course, and so here we are, ready for the release of Megalomanium Part II.”

Lead guitarist Magnus Henriksson continues, “The initial idea was to release a double record, mostly because we thought it was a fun and stupid thing to do in this day and age when there is so much music being released. But when we sat down and listened to all the new songs we quickly felt that they should be divided into two separate records, and so that’s what we ended up doing. Between Megalomanium Part I and Part II, I´d say Part II is definitely the more hard rock record of the two.”

“I think it's safe to say that we've stayed true to our roots on Part II, not necessarily by choice, it's just what we are and the music that we come from. Having said that, we try really hard to evolve with every record, including this one although there are definitely references to classic Eclipse stuff in there. I´m just gonna go ahead and say it, it's our best record yet.” says Martensson.

Swedish hard rock band ECLIPSE has been headlining shows all over the world over the last 10 years with tours in Japan, Australia and the US apart from their native European home turf. They've also opened for a wide range of bands such as My Chemical Romance, Aerosmith and Motley Crue.

Eclipse

Eclipse
is a Stockholm (Sweden) based hard rocking band formed in 1999 by singer Erik Mårtensson. The MK I line-up consisted of Erik Mårtensson (vocals, guitar and bass), Anders Berlin (keyboard and drums) and Magnus Henriksson (guitar) who landed a record deal after having sent a rough 4-song demo to an English record label. They later released the highly acclaimed debut “The truth & and little more” in 2001.

As they began the pre-work with their second album Anders Berlin decided to leave the band whilst Magnus Ulfstedt (drums) and Fredrik Folkare (bass) was added to the line-up. After spending some time writing new killer songs they headed for Wing Studios and Blowout Studios to record their second (forthcoming) album, entitled Second To None. This time knowing exactly how they wanted the album to sound like they decided to produce the album themselves.

Not having recruited a permanent keyboard player the band instead invited keyboard phenomenon Mats Olausson to handle the keys on the album.

During 2003 Eclipse signed a management deal with Nyström Management which later lead to the signing with premiere Italian melodic hard rock label Frontiers Records.

The current line-up (MK II) is Erik Mårtensson (vocals and guitar) Magnus Henriksson (guitar) Magnus Ulfstedt (drums) and Fredrik Folkare (bass).

All members are reputed live- and studio musicians also working for various artists in Sweden, such as members from Europe, Yngwie Malmsteen and Talisman among others.

This album contains no booklet.
