Info for Mahler: Symphony No. 1
For the first time in its history the Wiener Symphoniker publishes a studio recording under the newly founded inhouse label 'Wiener Symphoniker'. This first production was globally released on 8 October 2012 with a studio recording of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D major led by Chief Conductor Fabio Luisi - a work that embodies the tradition and demand of the Wiener Symphoniker almost exemplarily. The Symphony was composed in its present form in 1896, just four years before the founding of this orchestra.
