This album is a work of love, feeling, reflection, being attentive, watchful, just cruising in the moment, building loops, blocks, clouds that absorb the light from above and from within. A walk on a narrow path in the forest of interwoven soundscapes exploring what a violin can do with the help of a looper, electronics and some collaborating musical partners. It’s not meant to be some sort of a “virtuoso achievement” though or any such showing off… It’s a lot of meditation in colors, musical thoughtfulness, grooves and space-time emptiness. It is also a look back on my journey so far, the influences, the infuse of streams in improvisation in the field of Jazz and World Music although somewhat independently from any particular genre. Just bits and pieces of thoughts, some poetry, exploring the possibilities of my instrument which is the five-string electric violin. Composing for a solo project is always risky somehow... But I’ve had the joy and privilege of the participation of some brilliant guest musicians on this recording. I am forever thankful to them as well as to my teachers and Gurus and the artists who paved the way for the improvising violinist before me. Zoltán Lantos

Zoltán Lantos
He received his degree in classical violin from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Being drawn towards experimental and eastern music from early on, he traveled to India on a scholarship to study classical Indian music in 1985. Returning to Budapest in 1994 he went on developing his own unique way of improvising on the violin, rediscovering his musical roots and blending them with his knowledge of Eastern music and his experiences in the field of contemporary European jazz. Since then he has been performing and recording with various musicians such as Márta Sebestyén, László Dés, Mihály Dresch, Gábor Juhász and Kornél Horváth from his native Hungary as well as Charlie Mariano, Dave Liebman, Ramesh Shotham, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Lars Danielsson, Dhafer Youssef, Markus Stockhausen, Achim Tang, Patrice Heral and others. Aside his main project called "Mirrorworld" he also plays soloviolin performances using electronic devices to create multiple loops and special effects. The last few years he has been invited to several international jazz- and world music festivals with his own group and also as a guest artist of other projects. Zoltán Lantos plays a 5 string violin and a custom-built 5+16 sympathetic string violin (Tarangini) created by Ricardo Margarit.
