Info for Measurements

Australian singer-songwriter Didirri takes the saying “quality over quantity” to heart on his stunning new EP, Measurements. While the EP is only six songs in length, it is filled to the brim with powerful, emotional and cinematic songwriting. Whether it’s the incredibly personal opening track or the massive and theatrical “Formaldehyde,” Didirri shines throughout the entirety of the EP, proving that he is a force to be reckoned with.

Opening Measurements is “Blind You,” a stunning and simplistic song that gives you a glimpse into Didirri’s soul. It’s about letting someone go because you know they’ll be better off without you - a heartbreakingly realistic track. The same heartfelt lyricism drives the rest of the EP as well, with the cinematic “Formaldehyde” serving as its epic peak, both sonically and lyrically. The same can also be said about the stunning “Worth The Wait,” which builds and builds until it comes to a breaking point.

Although there is a great balance throughout the EP, the fifth track, “Jude” is definitely one of the strongest songs lyrically. Lines like “My head don’t work in the usual ways / Cause I’m a fool for pain,” touch on mental health in a raw and relatable way, layered on top of stunning acoustic guitar.

Measurements gives you a glimpse into Didirri’s soul and in turn, provides you with six stunning, impactful songs. Although short, this EP packs a punch and shows quite a bit of promise for Didirri’s future.

Didirri
Melbourne's Didirri (real name) has been mesmerising people all year. His challenging and thoughtful writing, combined with on-stage charisma and relatable depth has continually won over listeners around the world. Simultaneously heartbreaking and healing, and approaching real issues with smile and charm, Didirri is an artist with something to say.

With crowds singing along word for word, it’s evident that audiences are listening. After wowing at BIGSOUND with his dynamic live show, Didirri went on to sell out two headline tours in 2017 off the back of the release of his debut single “Blind You” and beloved follow up “Jude”. He also supported the likes of Tash Sultana, The Jezabels and The Temper Trap, and played Fairgrounds Festival, Grampians Festival, Boogie Fest, NYE On the Hill, and sold out his first ever show in London at the iconic Shacklewell Arms.

2017 also saw the introduction of a full live band on stage, and bringing with it a new level of performance and depth to his music. Weaving through uninhibited, relatable, and sometimes political lyrics, and with a penchant for impromptu mid-set banter, Didirri breaks down the walls between audience and stage. His presence and candour taking away the stigma of disclosure, and inviting you to join the conversation.

Taking cues from intellectuals, comedians, philosophers, painters, friends, and lovers, Didirri reveals himself using words and music with unprecedented beauty and honesty. His uninhibited lyrics tug at raw nerves, while his charming melodies soothe your heart - all at once provoking a wild thought and calming your heady mind.

Picked by triple j for their “10 Best artists we saw at Bigsound” and “10 best live shows of 2017”, as well as frequently charting in the most played Unsigned acts on triple j and most played on triple j unearthed, Didirri was also invited to spend the day talking about his song writing and inspirations with triple j unearthed for a feature video which has been watched by over 200 thousand people.

Also described by Monster Children as “the right kind of earnest”, as well as “simply captivating” by Music Feeds, “wisdom beyond his years” (Indie Shuffle), and “achingly heartfelt” (triple j), it’s no wonder his music has been featured on multiple Spotify and Apple playlists world-wide, has been played on national and community radio, charted on AIR, and has caught the attention of fans around the globe.
