Info for Ocean Eyes

The adventure began in 2017 as I played my first songs accompanied by a guitarist only. I met the percussionist Wills Gey in may 2017 as he decided to improvise on my songs during a concert at the Café des Docks in Lausanne (CH). This moment set the start of a partnership but also of an enlightening and eventful journey.

In the end of 2017, the project got the name Nalu and the violinist Marine Wenger joined the crew, followed by the musician Mark Kelly in summer 2018. Us four musicians recorded together a first EP called «Drifting Tides». Its launch took place in October 2018 for the Proxima Project at Les Docks, where it all started. At that moment the team grew a little more welcoming a new guitarist, Romain Equey.

The project grew rapidly with a great number of concerts and interviews on local radios. We played more than twenty shows in 2018 (Les Citrons Masqués, les Docks, la salle Paderewski, le Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, etc.). Two of them were support acts for the singer Fanny Leeb and the solo project of Mark Kelly. More than twenty shows have already been played in 2019 (Cave du Bleu Lézard, Fête de la Musique de Lausanne – Place de l’Europe, Fête des Vignerons, etc.) including a first tour abroad of four shows in Israel and a big buzz on our way back in the french and Swiss media.

Nalu
is a relaxing, soothing sound and yet strength and power emanates from within the music. It is like an inspiring wave. This project is born with the sweet musical universe of Noa Z. and the creative rhythms of Wills Gey. Artists such as Ben Howard, Bon Iver, Angus&Julia Stone and Xavier Rudd, influence Nalu's sound. This indie-folk style leaves a lasting impression that can be imagined as a crossing though blue water.

Nalu is composed of other highly talented band members; The magic of Mark Kelly who is sometimes on the bass and other times on the guitar, displaying his versatility. As well as gifted Victor Darmon on the violin and the multi-instrumentalist Romain Equey.

This album contains no booklet.
