Info for Pianissimo
Music is universally comprehensible, but is understood differently by everyone. By creating these booklets I want to underline and express the individuality of music not only aurally but also visually and haptically. Find the one which belongs to you.
Florian Christl, piano
Florian Christl
His passionate playing style and his equally exciting and deeply moving composition style show Florian Christl's all-encompassing love for music. The mix of sometimes soothing, sometimes powerful piano playing combined with exceptionally imaginative and moving string arrangements makes the music of the Munich-based composer and pianist unique in a very special way. His music speaks to our innermost being in a radically emotional way, which makes his concerts an extremely rousing and lastingly moving experience.
Improvisation is his most important creative method. For Florian Christl, composing is a deeply personal, almost intimate process in which he remains alone with his music and his thoughts. The aim is to create a space that can be experienced individually; a place where, for a short time, it is all about "escaping reality in order to feel alive, lost in thought".
Florian Christl's debut album "Inspiration" immediately reached the global classical music top lists and the top 20 of the German classical music charts in 2018 and has since delighted a wide audience on international tours. The album "Donau", which will be released on November 8th by Sony Classical, is a musical journey from the source to the mouth of the river, inspired by nature and the musical traditions of the cities and regions along the Danube, and includes twelve new compositions. On his new album, the pianist and composer explores places such as Vienna, Budapest and the Danube Delta and incorporates a local musical or sound-painting element into each of his compositions.
