Info for Wrong Turn Swing
'Wrong Turn Swing' is a roadmap to the intricate progressions of our lives. Taking a chance and exploring all the right and wrong turns that are in front of us - guessing, which way it will be. Sometimes the wrong turns refine our form, more than choosing to burn our paths in unalterable clay.
Moritz Weissinger (drums) and Oliver Wojteczek (guitar) explore these experiences in their compositions on 'Wrong Turn Swing'. The recordings were made during their german tour in the fall of 2012. The renowned Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg, Germany were in charge of for the mixing and mastering.
In 'Wrong Turn Swing' the young musicians are mainly making musical pottery in the realms of Contemporary Jazz
('Wrong Turn Swing', 'The Florist'), but they also sculpt a distinct diversity with their musical material - from Classical Jazz ('Any Idea For A Name') to latin/ african - inspired pieces ('Breathe Easy', 'Flow Of Smiles')
Moritz Weissinger, drums
Oliver Wojteczek, guitar
Leonardo Radicchi, tenor- and soprano saxophone
Markus Wach, bass
Tonarbeiten
(ger.: works of tone/clay) is an international Jazz – Quartet. Their craft is music, notes are their material and instruments are their tools. Musical works of Ton (which in german means both tone/clay) have the advantage of allowing the sculptor to further enhance them. Nothing is being set in a potter's finished clay, but rather made into a dynamic and lively sculpture. The 4 young musicians continuously work on their musical clay and form it into their own modern Jazz compositions. The band which revolves around Moritz Weissinger (drums, Germany), Leonardo Radicchi (saxophone, Italy) and Oliver Wojteczek (Guitar, Germany) made their first recordings in Boston, USA. The band members met at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Tonarbeiten has grown strong as a group through concerts in Boston, New York City and all of Germany, besides the live and studio experiences of each individual member (e.g. Leonardo Radicchi's debut album 'I Hear Voices In My Head', published by Groove Master Edition or Oliver Wojteczeks Semi-Final placement at the 'International Songwriting Competition 2011' with the Tonarbeiten-tune 'Aspiration').
