Biographie Ester Quevedo Quintet
Ester Quevedo
was born on the 29th of December 1993 in Madrid, Spain. She began to play piano at the age of 6. When she was 7 years old, she got accepted into the Music Conservatory of El Escorial,Madrid where she studied classical piano for ten years. At the same time she also studied at “ Escuela de Música Creativa” in Madrid, where she received classes from Tony Heimer(jazz piano)and Bobby Martínez( ensembles and big band) In 2011 she began her Bachelor degree in jazz piano performance in the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC). There, she received lessons from Albert Bover, Joan Díaz, Ignasi Terraza, Lluís Vidal, Horacio Fumero among others. She was also part of a exchange programme at Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts) , receiving classes from Rov van Bavel, Simon Rigter, Hans Mantel, Ilja Reijngoud and Luis Rabello.
She has also attended differents workshops and masterclasses with renewn jazz artists such as Michael Kannan, Chris Cheek, Peter Berstein, Fred Hersch , Aaron Goldberg among others . Currently,she is part of several projects in Barcelona’s music scene, including her own project, which performs her original music as well.
She has performed with differents bands in venues like: Jamboree Jazz Club, Nova Jazz Cava, Sala Artte, Sunset Jazz Club, Teatro Fernán Gómez, Altxerri Jazz Club,
Ester has a huge experience on the teaching field. Since 2013 she has worked in different schools where she teaches piano students at many different levels. She also teaches harmony, ensembles, and music theory.
