Das in Montréal ansässige Streicherensemble Collectif9 präsentiert ein weiteres innovatives Programm mit Werken von Hildegard von Bingen, Arvo Pärt, Michael Tippett, Nicole Lizée, Bryce Dessner und Jocelyn Morlock.

„Rituæls“ ist eine neue Sammlung mit Musik vom Mittelalter bis zur Moderne mit einer Erzählung – einer künstlerischen Geste – die an die menschliche Tradition der Weitergabe von Wissen und Praktiken in Kultur und Kunst erinnert. Ein Element der Kontinuität verbindet jedes Musikstück mit dem nächsten, sei es in Form eines Borduns oder einer gehaltenen Note, eines sich unmerklich wandelnden Akkords oder einer Gruppe sich ständig wiederholender Töne. Die ersten Aufführungen beinhalteten Tanz und Bewegung, eine Idee, die die Interpretation und die Entwicklung des Programms, das auf diesem Album zu hören ist, beeinflusst hat.
