Pianist, singer and composer Gable is from Knoxville, Tennessee where he began in music as a pre-teen playing piano in church. Later he studied at the University of Hartford’s Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz in Connecticut and holds a Master’s in Jazz Performance from Juilliard.
Taber Gable brings as many influences to the piano as possible. Gable at a young age started enjoying and applying many different styles which include Jazz, Gospel, Classical, Pop, R&B, Soul, Neo Soul and a variety of other genres. Taber started playing piano at the age of 9 in church and has gone on to receive a Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies from The University of Hartford where he had the opportunity to study with Andy LaVerne, Steve Davis, Rene McLean, Javon Jackson, Nat Reeves. He recently graduated The Juilliard School with his Masters in Jazz performance where he studied under Kenny Barron, Wynton Marsalis, and many more notable teachers.
He surfaced with his debut in 2020, an album of originals called Hidden Driveways with personnel including Andrew Renfroe on guitar and Jonathan Pinson on drums.
“Sure, I enjoy writing and performing straight ahead material, but I hear and want to incorporate a lot of other things as well. Organ, guitars, synthesizers, vocals. And no matter what, I want to make sure I’m being honest in my approach and honoring all parts of my sound and what I’m hearing.” (Taber Gable)

from Knoxville Tennessee graduated from The Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz in Hartford (2010-2014), Connecticut and The Juilliard School (2016), Studied with Teachers Andy Laverne Steve Davis, Nat Reeves, Kenny Barron, Kenny Washington, Ben Wolfe, Wynton Marsalis and received his Masters in Jazz Performance and Jazz Studies. Taber has been called on to perform alongside many great musicians such as: Marcus Strickland E.J.Strickland, Gregory Tardy, Terrace Martin, Ben Williams, Jaleel Shaw, Jimmy Greene, Myron Walden, Abraham Burton, Trevor Lawrence, Jonathan Barber, Braxton Cook, Lakecia Benjamin, Jesse Palter and many more.
While completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies at the University of Hartford, Taber Gable had the pleasure of learning from the likes of Andy LaVerne, Steve Davis, Rene McLean, Javon Jackson and Nat Reeves. Most recently, he graduated from The Juilliard School with a Masters in Jazz Performance. During this time, he had the opportunity to study under the tutelage of Kenny Barron, Wynton Marsalis, and many other notable teachers. In recent years, Taber Gable has been called on to play and tour alongside many great musicians such as Marcus Strickland, EJ Strickland, Terrace Martin, Trevor Lawrence, Jonathan Barber, Braxton Cook, Nubya Garcia, Carolyn Leonhart and many more. Gable is a highly sought after musician in the New York jazz scene as well as being internationally known for his cross-genre abilities and captivating live performance style.
Gable has Recorded on more than 30 albums and in fall 2020 Gable released his first solo album “Hidden Driveways”. With a new Record on the way to be released in fall 2024!
