Authentic 1970's funk from the UK's most well established funk & soul band, Speedometer. Recorded with an 8-piece live band in Studio Three. This one is a whole lotta fun.
Since forming as a quartet in 1998, Speedometer has been at the forefront of the funk and soul scene. While on the playlists of every funk and soul DJ dropping heavy funk, latin or soulful beats on dance floors around the world, their music has also been the backdrop for countless TV shows and Hollywood film trailers.
They have toured all over Europe and Japan releasing 8 studio albums, including collaborations with some of legendary names in soul and funk including Marva Whitney, Eddie Bo, Robert Moore, Billy Wooten and more.
In 2022, the band were busy recording 2 new albums at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The first LP “The Funk Sessions” was released in April 2023 and its sister LP “The Soul Sessions” will be released on the Abbey Masters in the summer.
