Info zu My Inspirations
In this album Malcolm Potter rearranges great songs from artists that inspired him, sharing and maybe sometimes helping to discover them. This album is the answer to the previous one "Made to measure", exclusively containing originals. It is also the perfect place to invite many musicians and friends.
Malcolm Potter is a bass player, singer and songwriter, whose voice has been compared to Sting, Harry Connick Jr. and Jamie Cullum to name a few.
His approach to music is informed by a combination of "ingredients". Malcolm is both British and French. He is a bass player and a singer. His music embraces resonances from The Beatles to Stevie Wonder, from Chet Baker to Jacob Collier. He blends these influences with uncanny skill and coolness.
Having played jazz for the last 20 years, he's taking a new and unprecedented approach...an original sound that's easily accessible, influenced by the colours and contours of jazz. It captivates one as it opens up.

Malcolm Potter
singer and upright bass player, half French and half British, has played on stage and on record with many jazz and blues artists (Leroy JONES, Scott HAMILTON, Daniel HUCK, Patrick ARTERO, Leslie LEWIS, Stacey KING, Frank ASH, William GALISON, Graeme ALLWRIGHT, Alfio ORIGLIO, Celia KAMENI-GLORIEUX, Ronald BAKER, André CECARELLI...)
His albums brought him to play many festivals, concert halls and clubs around the world, and to sing with the "Orchestre National de Jazz du Luxembourg". At the same time he worked on numerous projects such as movie scores, adverts, cartoons, children's tales and also many albums as a sideman, musical director, producer or arranger.
