Info zu The Forest
Sam Watts will release his debut album "The Forest". Sam is known first and foremost for his extensive work as a media composer, having scored programmes such as Sarah Jane Adventures, Planet Earth Diaries and most recently Battling The Bailiffs. However, he decided to dedicate significant time in 2016 to creating original material, which has resulted in three studio albums, The Forest being the first of these scheduled for release. The inspiration behind the album came from a dog-walk where Sam decided to create the soundtrack of a 24 hour period in a forest, encapsulating nature from sunrise to sundown. Combining string quartet with modern electronics and vintage synths, the album comprises 10 post-classical instrumentals building from quiet and mysterious ambience to dark and brooding motifs.

I am a composer working primarily in film and television as well as writing music for advertising, theatre and the concert hall.
At the age of five I began playing the piano and aged nine I discovered a love for singing. I studied Music at the University of Nottingham and after graduating I moved to London to work as George Fenton's Music Assistant, archiving, researching and music copying for films including Ae Fond Kiss, Stage Beauty, Mrs Henderson Presents and Hitch.
In 2006 I began working as a freelance composer and an orchestrator and arranger.
My credits include Wizards vs Aliens, Planet Earth, The Sarah Jane Adventures, For Neda, Stormhouse and My Kitchen working for companies including the BBC, Freemantle, HBO, Scanner-Rhodes, Big Finish and Optomen.
