Kolbrún Óskarsdóttir aka KUSK
ist eine 19 Jahre alte Sängerin, Songwriterin und Produzentin aus Island. Sie macht ihre Musik in ihrem Schlafzimmer und hat sich auf Schlafzimmer-Pop, Pop, Dance und Indie-Musik spezialisiert.

2022 gewann KUSK den isländischen "Battle of the Bands" Músíktilraunir. Es war das erste Mal in vierzig Jahren, dass eine Solokünstlerin den Wettbewerb gewann. Seitdem ist sie durch ganz Island gereist, hat viele verschiedene Konzerte gespielt und Musik veröffentlicht. Ihr Debütalbum "SKVALDUR" erschien im Oktober 2022.

Kolbrún begann Ende 2020 mit dem Produzieren und Schreiben von Musik, um während der Pandemie etwas zu tun zu haben. Sie öffnete einfach Garageband und brachte sich alles selbst bei, indem sie es einfach tat. Sie liebte es, Melodien auf einer Gitarre oder einem Klavier zu schreiben und sie dann auf den Computer zu übertragen. Sie hatte bereits in einigen Bands gesungen, wollte aber unbedingt lernen, wie man Songs von Grund auf schreibt. Nach einer Weile des Lernens und der Erstellung einiger wirklich schlechter Songs und Demos veröffentlichte sie im März ihren ersten Song "FLUGVÉLAR feat. Óviti" im März 2022, einen Song, an dem sie mit ihrem Freund und Musikerkollegen Hrannar Máni, genannt Óviti, gearbeitet hat. Kolbrún und Hrannar arbeiten, schreiben und spielen viel zusammen und sind gleichzeitig zwei Solokünstler.

Kolbrún lebt in Reykjavík und geht gerne schwimmen und in Cafés, wobei sie oft den Computer mitnimmt und Musik macht.
