Samuel Ljungblahd
Biography Samuel Ljungblahd
Samuel Ljungblahd
is also known as Sweden's soul and gospel king. His first breakthrough for the general public came with his appearance on the TV programme ‘Så ska det låta’, but it was topped by Samuel's appearance at the wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, where he got all the royals dancing and clapping in time during the march-out. It has also led to a collaboration with the Stockholm Concert Hall and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, where Samuel has been a guest soloist at their official Christmas concerts on several occasions. Samuel has also managed to, literally, floor gospel legend Kirk Franklin when he attended Franklin's concert in Globen a number of years ago. Samuel tours extensively throughout the year, mainly in Scandinavia, but also has time to perform in the rest of Europe. For several years, Samuel has also toured with one of Sweden's best big bands Bohuslän Big Band and made several acclaimed Christmas tours.
Samuel has collaborated with large parts of Sweden's artistic elite, including Lisa Nilsson, Carola, Sarah Dawn Finer, Timbaktu, Danny Saucedo to name a few.
In the autumn of 2024, Samuel will release his new album ‘I made it out’. The album is characterised by Samuel's musical roots and the album completely oozes soul with clear elements of both gospel and funk.
