Even though Chopin in not the father of the musical form 'Nocturne', this Franco-Polish composer developed this art form to unprecedented heights, laying out the path for composers such as Liszt, Debussy, Ravel, Rachmaninov or Bartók. This programs requires an expressive tone palette as well as refined articulation and touch: qualities that are at the very core of Emmanuelle Swiercz’s playing. Pure piano, grace, brilliance, lightness, momentum. A pianist who will make a name for herself.

Emmanuelle Swiercz
started the piano at 9. Two years later she gave her first performance with an orchestra. At the age of 16 she was unanimously accepted by the jury of the National Superior Conservatory of music and dance in Paris into the classes of Michel Béroff, Denis Pascal and Marie-Françoise Bucquet. In 1999, after graduating with distinction, she took part in proficiency courses and simultaneously attended master-classes with György Sebök, György Kurtág, Dmitri Bashkirov, Leon Fleisher and Murray Perahia.

Emmanuelle was sponsored by the Foundation of the French Group Banques Populaires, by the Cziffra Foundation, by the Musical Forum of Normandy, and by the Musical Patronage of SocGen. She won the second prize at the Ricardo Viñes International Competition and the International Music Tournament in Rome, the third Prize at the Città di Camaiore International Competition; she was awarded “Prix Spécial” at the Maria-Canals International Competition. In addition, with the backing of the Musical Patronage of SocGen, Emmanuelle and four other pianists recorded all the piano sonatas by Alexander Scriabin.

Many festivals have shown their faith in her young talent: the International Festival at Roque-d’Anthéron, the Chopin Festival of Bagatelle, Musique à l’ Empéri in Salon-de-Provence, Les Nouveaux Solistes (New Soloists) at the “Serres d’Auteuil”, Fêtes Romantiques at Nohant… She has been invited to perform in many concert halls in France (Salle Pleyel, Salle Gaveau, Cité de la Musique, Musée d’Orsay, Invalides and Sénat in Paris, Arsenal in Metz…); she also performed out of France, e.g. at the International Piano Forum in Berlin, the Rudolfinum in Prague, Théâtre des Salons in Geneva, the Athenaeum in Bucarest, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and at the Fine Arts National Theatre in Rio de Janeiro.

In addition, Emmanuelle Swiercz has given solo performances with the orchestras of Kazan and Novosibirsk (Russia), Viareggio (Italy), Kharkov (Ukraine), the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris and the Orchestra of the Douai Nord-Pas de Calais Region. Her partners of chamber music include Moraguès Quintet, Talich Quartet, Henri Demarquette, Vladimir Bukac, Graf Mourja, Eric Le Sage, Suzanne Ramon and Psophos Quartet, among others... Through the International Holland Music Sessions she has taken part in several concerts and toured in Central and Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia and Romania). Emmanuelle Swiercz regularly broadcasts on French radio and television such as France Musique (Dans la cour des grands [In the Court of the Masters]), France 2 (Musiques au coeur [Music for the Heart]), Direct 8 (Opus 8) and Mezzo.
