Delia Fischer: Beyond Bossa, her ninth solo album, is her first sung mostly in English. Delia’s piano and voice studies started early. She studied piano with prominent Brazilian masters including classical and film composer Cesar Guerra-Peixe and famed Bossa-Nova/jazz pianist Luiz Eça (Tamba Trio), becoming a professional musician while still in her teens. She developed her singing abilities first in a choir at ProArte Music School in Rio and later worked with vocal coach Felipe Abreu. She soon built a reputation as a talented pianist and prolific composer in Brazil and Europe, including appearances at the Club New Morning in Paris, Sofia Jazz Festival, and the Montreux Jazz Festival. Her prestige as a musician led to her engagements as music director and arranger in a number of musicals in Rio and Sao Paulo, spanning more than a decade from 2007 through 2019 and earning her many theatre awards in Brazil.

Her stage performances are marked by superb musicianship, charming singing, Brazilian charisma, and, always, great songs. 2019 saw her complete her first solo European tour, with dates in Germany, Italy and Portugal. After the lockdowns ended, she resumed live shows and played sold-out nights at Rio venues, at the Blue Note clubs in São Paulo and Rio, and at Rio’s prestigious Sala Cecilia Meireles in a concert dedicated to her renditions of songs by Gil and Milton Nascimento. She also appeared in an evening with renowned composer and pianist Antonio Adolfo and Atlântica Big Band.
